Released on the small New York based Real label in 1969, the Children Of One were pioneers in what would eventually become known as New Age Music. Most of the music on this album is based on Eastern meditative improvisation and at times classical in structure with female vocals according to reviewer Michael Parker as “wordless, somewhat operatic in style that comes off as mysterious and ritualistic instead of gratuitous or annoying” (the only exception is Konrad Kaufman’s five minute drum solo “Konrad’s Rap”).
