
Chef Sol (aka Solomon Goldfarb) is said to have first crawled out of his den in Maryland's Rock Creek woods when a group of local deer were trying to get a jam session going, but couldn't get ahold of the buck who was supposed to be on bass. The minutes-old cub strung a vine between two pine trees and the crisis was averted. The growing grizzly went on to hone his culinary skills in West Philadelphia, becoming known for his shakshuka, bahn mis, and chilaquiles.
