About Charm Offensive
Melbourne rock band Charm Offensive mix angular sonics with pop structures. Consisting of Jay Dunne on vocals, singer/guitarist Chris Debono, guitarist Adrian Monello, bassist Adam Doherty, and drummer Mark Howell, the band was formed in 2008. Despite ostensibly being part of a post-hardcore-emo scene that values aggression and noise as much as hooks and melody, Charm Offensive show a striking pop sensibility. Vocals are lushly layered and anxiety-ridden, with lyrics finding a beauty in the mundanities of suburban melodrama.
