1. Chaos Engine were (or are, depending on whim) a startling synth-industrial noise powered by equal parts bile, broken hardware (usually violently and on stage), disturbingly-coloured energy drinks and small-town England. The creative core of the band was Lee Chaos, abetted in the classic line-up (which makes them sound like Lynyrd Skynyrd) by Huw beating a guitar soundly and staring hard at the audience. They wore out several bass players in a manner that owed more to psyops than Spinal Tap.
