Cazadero, formed in early 2012 by Joe Hayes of San Francisco's The Dont's, dabbles in Western pop, mixing Nashville-tinged jubilee with abandoned beach balladry. The album Dusk for Dawn was recorded in March at Tiny Telephone Studios (San Francisco) by eight musicians over the course of four days, and released digitally and on vinyl in May 2012.
