
Carl (Karl) Eduard Schuberth (1811–1863) was a German 19th-century cellist-composer and conductor, born in Magdeburg and later active in St Petersburg and Zürich. He wrote extensively for the cello and for chamber ensembles, and his works survive in printed editions collected by IMSLP and in manuscript sources catalogued by RISM (including autograph material for cello-and-piano repertory). Schuberth belongs to the Romantic-era tradition of virtuoso
