Keyboard player Stuart McKillop formed Cado Belle in 1974, bringing together guitarist Alan Darby, Gavin Hodgson on bass, Colin Tully on sax and flute, drummer Davy Roy, and vocalist Maggie Reilly. Their self-titled album, which was released two years later, featured immaculate musicianship which rivaled the best of American smooth jazz/rock. However, this was about ten years ahead of the heyday of Scottish blue-eyed soul, and, despite some airplay of single Airport Shutdown
