
Burt Calladine grew up in eastern Oklahoma, the son of a road-crew foreman and a school secretary, spending most of his childhood shuttling between small-town fairs, VFW halls, and dusty two-lane highways. He picked up guitar in his early teens and started writing plainspoken songs built around the stories he heard from the men and women who passed through his parents' world.
