This is the first German - produced recording of Bulgaria's Focus 65 Quartet one of the most original ensembles in European jazz. This originality is all the more surprising in that Bulgaria has virtually no jazz traditions and has hetherto produced no jazz musician at all of any standing. It is of course inconceivable that musicians of such qualities as those shown by the members of this group should exist without any musical background whatsoever
