
Hailing from Sittingbourne, Kent, Brother Murphy recorded a single demo tape in June 1999 at Roundell Studios. Stylistically taking their cues from early Idlewild and Nirvana, the band played a handful of gigs in Kent before electing to switch to a harder post-hardcore style under the moniker "Dead Girl in the Water".
