About Brazilian Blues Bash
The American drummer Merle Perkins was born in Saint Louis, Missouri, and moved to Chicago,one of the main cradles of the blues, in the '70s. It was during this period that he made his first appearance alongside Buddy Guy & Junior Wells. Since then,he recorded and toured with artists such as Freddie King, Albert King, Magic Slim and Lonnie Brook.In an interview with the Journal of Piracicaba, the harmonica player of the quintet explains the genesis of Brazilian Blues Bash:
