About Blue Screaming
In February 1977, one Simon Paris invested £2.36 on a Melody Maker advert: "Limited but creative guitarist seeks versatile musicians for experimental fast bleak music." Keyboardist Igor was the first to answer, and between them they assembled Blue Screaming. Igor soon landed a Tuesday-night residency at the Duke of Lancaster starting June 14th...alas, before they had written any songs. "The first date was a kind of psychedelic punk slapstick" but by the end of their residency they'd found their groove.
