About Blue Flamingo
Blue Flamingo is the moniker of Ziya Ertekin (born Oss, The Netherlands, 1969), a DJ, record collector and musician based in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Ertekin rose to fame as a collector of 78 RPM records, released in the 1920s to 1950s. He owns a huge collection of and released three unique compilations of this vintage music: 78 R.P.M. (2008), Congo Jazz (2010) and A Search for CMS (2012). As a DJ he spins original 78 RPM shellac records, using an original 1958 Garrard 4HF record player and a 15-Watt Fender '57 Deluxe tube amplifier.
