Black Like Oil is a collective that combines the experience of a tandem of two film composers and a singer-songwriter to bring the magic of the soundtrack to life. They are inspired by pop culture artifacts of the past - music, movies, visual retro aesthetics - experimenting with sound, searching for their own language, combining synthwave and nostalgic beats with unconventional forms. Their music combines industrial and synthwave, creating an effect of naturalness, intimacy and fantasy.
