Ende der 60er Jahre begann er seine musikalische Karriere in verschiedenen Rockbands (Wanted, Clockwork) und tourte als Anheizer für Deep Purple, Whitesnake, Status Quo, Nazareth, Colosseum, usw., durch ganz Europa. Schrieb parallel dazu Hörspiele, Drehbücher, Kabarettprogramme (Im Westen nix Neues - ORF) und Erzählungen (Herrn Rudolph's Geranien - Fink's Verlag). 1973 erster großer Erfolg bei der TV-Sendung "Showchance" mit "Oho Vorarlberg" gemeinsam mit Schriftsteller Michael Köhlmeier - damals sensationelle Nr.
