
Jim Wynn was born in El Paso in 1912, grew up in L.A. First learnt the clarinet, then switched to the tenor sax and late in his career switched to baritone Sax. Played as a sidesman on many West Coast recordings. Played regulary with Johny Otis. Also lead his own band in the 40's and 50's, at this time was also billed as Big Jim Wynn. He died in 1976.
