Bernadette Bascom Bernadette Bascom (born 1962) is an American R&B singer, vocal educator, and nonprofit founder known for her contributions to music performance, inclusivity in arts education, and community outreach in the Pacific Northwest.[1][2][3] Born in Baltimore, Maryland, Bascom is the daughter of civil rights activist and Baptist minister Rev. Marion C. Bascom and music teacher Lutherine Bascom, which instilled in her an early passion for music and social justice.
