About Benny Troung
Born and raised in the slums of Ho Chi Minh City, Benny Troung is no stranger to struggle. Orphaned at a young age, Benny had to learn how to fend for himself. By day, he sold chewing gum and W.W.J.D. bracelets to tourists. In the evenings, he taught himself how to read and write. At the age of 11, his life changed. A fellow street urchin played him a song- Ja Rule's Between Me and You. It was Benny's first time hearing Hip-Hop and he instantly fell in love with it.
