Inspired by artists like Owain Pfyfe and David Monroe, Bedlam Abbey was a group brought together in the early 90's in the Denver Chapter of the Society for Creative Anachronism in order to try to promote live Medieval and Renaissance music in the spirit of ‘the current middle ages’. The two founding members were Chris Wilson, a avid, self-taught player of early woodwinds and a Fred Matzen, and talented and experienced guitar player who would initially play Eagles tunes at fighter practices.
