Way back in 1988, John Peel favourite, Bastard Kestrel made noise. And lots of it. Their sound was based on chaos, experimentation and anarchy. They were domineering and prescient, a dadist mash up of swell maps / faust / sonic youth / bogshed and all the brutality that ensues forthwith. The BKs tackled the lurkers "love story" admirably on their full length album 'Oh Splendid Mushroom', while turning in an appealingly car-crash cover of sonic youth's "schizophrenia".
