Bartolomeo Carteri (Verona, 1542? - Verona, April 27, 1614) was an Italian composer active between the end of the 16th century and the beginning of the 17th century. Musician by profession (composer, cantor, cornetto player, lute and viola da gamba) he entered the Verona Philharmonic Academy on December 31, 1564, remaining an aggregate for his entire life. Little is known about his life except what is obtained from an alleged portrait of him painted by Felice Brusasorzi around 1580
