About Avernus
There are at least two bands who share this name: 1. An American Doom Metal band. 2. The alias of Trance music producer Yigit Denizci. 1. Avernus formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1992. Influenced by artists such as Paradise Lost, Dead Can Dance and Cranes, early releases were a mix of death metal, doom metal, and cinematic atmospheres, though the band's sound soon evolved to incorporate a sound closer to goth rock and has managed to record semi-consistently despite an ever-fluctuating roster of musicians.
