About Aurel Stroe
Aurel Stroe (b. Bucharest, 5 May 1932 - d. 3 October 2008). Romanian composer. A pupil of Andricu at the Bucharest Conservatory (1951-6), where he began teaching in 1962, he also studied at Darmstadt (1966-9). His music, in several genres, uses avant-garde techniques; one of his aims is to create a complex work uniting visual and musical forms with technological resources (e.g. in the cycle of eight orchestral pieces Dèmarche musicale,1971).
