Asking Directions to Nowhere started as an idea formed by three kids, Pat Gilson, Eric VanKoughnett, and Alex Barnier: back in grade six, they all decided upon instruments, made a vow to learn how to play them, and swore to one day form a band that would help them pick up attractive girlfriends. Skipping forward to the year 2008, when all band members had just entered high school and finally started learning their instruments—Gilson on lead vocals and rhythm guitar
