About Armazem
Armazem (Warehouse) is a septet (acoustic guitar/cavaquinho, flutes, sax/clarinets, saxes, keyboards, bass and drums). The band is directed by Sergio Cardoso, which has been working with contemporary music for the last 10 years and received 1 French and 3 Brazilians prizes for his compositions and a fellowship to study with Pierre Boulez, Luciano Berio & Emannuel Nunes. However, Armazem has a different proposal than contemporary music, mixing Brazilian rhythms, as jongo, maracatu and zambê, with jazz, in a similar way Hermeto Pascoal does.
