About Argan
Argan is a Berber electro group from southern Morocco. The groups' name is the name of a small tree that exists widely in the Souss Region of Morocco where the band is from (and in a tiny part of Mexico.) This tree symbolizes their Berber heritage. Argan found a way to integrate 'arab' vocals and rhythms not only with rock guitars or drum and base but with imaginative electronic effects as well. The inspiration for the album 'South Moroccan Motor Berber' came from a village of south of Agadir.
