Aparna Panshikar is an Indian singer in the Hindustani classical tradition. Born into a family well known for its involvement in the performing arts, she had an early introduction to Indian classical music. Her first teacher, the late Pandit Bhaskarbua Joshi, was a direct disciple of Pandit Ramkrishnabua Vaze, who was a well-known and leading singer from the Gwalior gharana. The Gwalior gharana is considered to be the source from which all the other gharanas of Hindustani classical music have evolved.
