About Antoine Lardenois

Antoine Lardenois was a French composer, born in Paris around 1610 and died in Dax after 1681. He worked in the Catholic milieu as well as in the Calvinist movement . His earliest known work is a now lost mass published in Paris around 1645-1650 by Ballard. Lardenois developed a version of the melodies of the versified psalms by Clément Marot and Théodore de Bèze which aimed to facilitate their singing. It consists in using only a single key
