About Anthony Newman
Dr. Anthony Newman was born in May, 1941, iin Los Angeles. Although he is known as a concert pianist and composer, he is best known as a performer of Johann Sebastian Bach's organ works. As a teenager, Newman studied both the piano and organ in France. He then returned to the States and earned a B.S. from Mannes College of Music in 1962. He started working on his composing skills while earning a Master's from Harvard in 1963. He later earned a Ph.D. from Boston University.
