About Annagul Annagulyyewa
Annagül Anngulyýewa Annamyradowna (c. 1924 – July 18, 2009), named People's Artist of the USSR (1965) in recognition of her professional accomplishments in the arts, was a famous Turkmen soprano opera singer. She was the first internationally known opera singer to emerge from Turkmenistan. Annagül Anngulyýewa started working in 1941 for the Turkmen Opera and Ballet Theater in Ashgabat, where she starred in the lead role of the opera "Zöre-Tahyr".
