
Andrew Digby lived in Sheffield (England) until he was 18 years old. He began to play the piano at a very young age, the trombone aged about 10 and started to compose around 4 years later. He studied from 1986-90 at the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester (trombone with Chris Houlding, Peter Gane and Andrew Berryman) and subsequently spent a year in London as a discographer for the MCPS/National Sound Archive. Between 1991 and 1995 he studied composition with Mathias Spahlinger at the Music Highschool in Freiburg (Germany).
