ANCIENT CURSE proviene de Bremen, Alemania, y fue formada por el guitarrista/vocalista Peter PIETRZINSKI (SONS OF SEASONS, ex-POVERTY'S NO CRIME) en 1987. Se produjeron varios demos y se produjeron varios cambios en la formación antes de que la banda lanzara su primer mini-CD ''Thirsty Fields'' en 1995 a través de Rave Music. En ese momento, la formación era estable y junto con Gunnar ERXLEBEN (guitarras), que era el único miembro restante de 1987, Matthias SCHROEDER (batería) y Thorsten PENZ (bajo) completaron la formación.
