About Alison Self
Alison Self has been singing since she could talk. According to her grandmother, some of her first hits included renditions of "Scooby Doo, Where Are You?" and "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Alison grew up in Petersburg, VA and picked up the ukulele in December of 2005 impulsively after being inspired by Janet Klein and also growing impatient waiting for people to start bands with. She figured if she was going to start performing she was gonna have to just learn an instrument and roll with it.
