
Alessandro Coppini (c.1465 - 1527) was an Italian composer, active in Florence (he was probably born there); became a monk, a doctor of sacred theology, and organist of various Florentine churches including S. Lorenzo and SS. Annunziata. He wrote a Mass on Agricola 's Si dedero, but was most notable as a composer of canti carnascialeschi for the Florence of Lorenzo the Magnificent. These are good examples of the current Italian fashion for 4-part homophonic textures varied by repetition
