
Albert Malawi, born Albert Russell Johnson, st. Andrew, Jamaica came to Alpha Boys School in 1966. He attended the school alongside Fish Clarke (Johnny Clarke's brother), Leroy Smart & Lennie Hibbert and he learned to play drums there. By demand of Sister Ignatius, he also became selector of the Alpha sound system for 3 years. He was nicknamed Turbit (after the fish with hard bones).
