The Alabama Sacred Harp Singers were a choir speciallising in Gospel Music that were active during the 1940s. They are most commonly referenced alongside Alan Lomax, who toured the southern states amongst other areas recording rural music. The sacred harp tradition began in Britain before being exported and becoming prominent in the South Eastern states of the United States of America.
