About Akita Mata
Akita Mata is a "Cuba-Holland-Switzerland collective". The collective work is produced under the name Akita Mata, a Papiamentu phrase meaning roughly, "here will kill"; a Caribbean memento mori. The work is marked by extreme eclecticism but has strong roots in ambient and artmusic such as the collaborative efforts of Fripp and Eno, Moebius and Roedelius, the work of "loners" such as John Bender, and the darker strains of Throbbing Gristle and Coil,Fred Frith, Bob Ostertag and the Residents.
