Abigail Politely Decided’s musical shoebox contains virtual tape loops of Hammond improvisations by London-based performance artist, photographer and digital producer, Grooveolux. Characteristically, an Abigail piece is built on the foundations of live looping of Hammond organ tones providing a shifting rhythmic feuilleton overlayed with Western harmonic improvisation in a single key. But Abigail’s small canon also includes some early analogue tape-based pieces inspired by audio tape’s creative potential to manipulate recorded time.
