The Aaron Traffas Band formed in 2005 as a regional alt-country band based in Northeast Kansas. Initially the band comprised Aaron Traffas, Mason Powell and Chris Goering. After the departure of Goering in 2007, the band took a break while Traffas played acoustic shows. The band replaced Goering with Randy Miller in mid-2009 and changed its sound from traditional red dirt and Texas country to a much heavier, rock-based sound.
