A Man Called Son is the Melbourne-based solo project of Simon J. Pearlman. Originally from Brisbane, A Man Called Son released his debut EP "Fires, Floods and Boredom" in 2006. Ranging from the British folk sounds of 'Wouldn't Like to Doubt You' to the late night balladry of 'Cool Shady Sand', the EP gained some strong radio support and reviews. In 2007, A Man Called Son was shortlisted for the Grant Mclennan Memorial Fellowship, an oppportunity for Queensland songwriters in honour of the late Go-Between.
