It all started back in the mid-90's with a band called Ditch. The band had a rough sound and featured Kevin Palmer on vocals and guitar, Jason Singleton on drums, and Andy Clark on bass. However, in 1997 the band wanted to go in a new direction with a new sound. While preparing flyers for an upcoming show, 41down was born out of the ashes of Ditch. The 41down name itself came from a crossword puzzle. 41down originally had the same trio as Ditch but Andy was replaced by Josh Moates shortly after the Self-Titled (1997) album was recorded.
